The New Hampshire state competition had 46 teams competing, and our team got first place! Since we won, we earned an invitation to the 2024 FIRST Championship, in Houston, April 17-20. For worlds, we are trying to patent our innovation project and upgrade our robot from EV3 to SPIKE to improve the robot. Worlds is in April and it’s in Houston, Texas.
During the competition, each team is assessed in four different categories.
- The Robot Game is where you complete missions on the challenge board. This game seems like the main focus, but we learned that it isn’t the whole competition.
- The Robot Design is a presentation to tell judges about how your robot works, the inspiration, and why it works well.
- For the Innovation project, you find a solution to a problem in your community or even bigger problems.
- Core Values are the most important because it shows if you’re working with your team. Our team got 100% for every category in core values. At the award ceremony, the announcers only said the first, second, and third of each category, and the winner at the end. Our team thought we had lost, so when they announced us as the winners at the end, our team was shocked.

Fundraising
One challenge we are facing is the cost, so we are going to do fundraising to earn money to make sure that our entire team can go to Houston. If you would like to help, please consider donating!
